Renting a Home in Orlando - 3 False Assumptions

Renting a vacation home in Orlando is the perfect way to please everyone in your family, and ensure you all enjoy the fantastic vacation you look forward to all year. If, like many people, you're very particular about what you like, and what you don't like, whether it's the food or the people in the room next door who seem to like tap dancing on the wall at three in the morning, booking a hotel can be a daunting task.

Perhaps you've never considered renting a vacation home in Orlando before, assuming that if you're going on vacation to Disney World, you'll need to book yourself in to a hotel room, the same as everyone else.

The trouble is that doing things the same as everyone else doesn't necessarily mean you're doing the right thing. Ask the lemming at the back who turned around and went home. Generally if people are asked why they tend to book hotel rooms rather than considering renting a whole house, the responses originate from a number of common assumptions - all of which are flawed.

Here's a rundown of the three most common assumptions about renting a home in Orlando, with helpful information to explain the real situation today.

Assumption 1: They're expensive

Wrong! In fact, compared to most of the hotels in the Disney World area they represent a very significant saving. This may be hard to believe, but look at the figures: a typical Disney vacation home rental is available to rent for as little as $130 a night. This is significantly cheaper than the hotel rates in the area, not forgetting the added bonus of having your own separate bedrooms for the children, private living rooms, dining room, kitchen and garden - often with a pool or spa.

Assumption 2: They're small

Compared to Disney World itself - maybe! But these homes are as big as you need them to be. Anything up to massive seven bedroom luxury villas with gardens, swimming pool and a double garage is yours for the taking. Even doubling up and taking two families away you'll have plenty of space for the kids to run about, wear themselves out while you sit back, take some time to relax, get a barbecue going or watch TV.

When you consider the alternative: cooped up with your kids in a room not much bigger than the double garage on the house you could be renting, renting a vacation home in Orlando makes a good deal of sense for your own sanity as much as for the comfort of the whole family.

Children don't always come home from Disney World sleepy and wanting to eat up their dinner and go to bed like the angels we see on the television adverts! All too often they come home on a high, buzzing with excitement and wanting to rush about. A hotel room immediately shrinks to the size of your suitcase, and having a large, spacious house with a garden and pool can give your kids the chance they need to wind down at the end of the day, and give yourself the same chance too!

Assumption 3: They're a long way from the Disney resort

Renting a vacation home in Orlando gives you a choice of location, and many of the private homes are referred to as Disney homes or Disney home rentals. To achieve this association the home must be within just a few minutes of the resort itself.

Not only will you be a few minutes away from the heart of the action and fun, but there are many advantages to having that few minutes extra distance. The first is that you often find the area much quieter, and easier for you to relax and unwind without the noise and excitement to distract sleepy children (or sleepy parents for that matter!) The second is that there are many local amenities right on your doorstep, such as takeaways offering a home delivery service, supermarkets that are open 24 hours a day, post offices and other useful facilities.

Whether you are travelling as a small family or a large, combined family, the cost savings are enormous. With a large seven bedroom Orlando villa costing around $200 a night, two families with two children each could enjoy fabulous accommodation, unrivalled privacy and excellent facilities for around $25 a head per night! You simply won't find hotel rates that come anywhere close.

At home you enjoy the space and luxury to enjoy your free time. There's no reason why taking the children on holiday to Disney World, Orlando should involve you sacrificing comfort, privacy, space or the chance to unwind and relax yourself. Renting a home in Orlando not only saves you money, but helps you get as much out of your holiday as your kids - especially after they've gone to bed!
